1. Order Processing
Orders are processed Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm Eastern Time, excluding US public holidays. Orders placed after 2pm ET, on a weekend, or on a holiday begin processing the next business day.
Most products are stocked and ready to ship within 1–2 business days of order receipt. Once your order enters processing we verify stock, confirm the ship-to address and, for freight shipments, arrange carrier pickup.
Orders paid by purchase order do not enter processing until the PO is approved against your account terms. Orders paid by card are processed once payment is authorised.
2. Lead Times
Not every item ships from the shelf. Three categories apply:
- In stock. Parts, controllers, arm sections, flanges, loop detectors, power supplies and most accessories. Ships in 1–2 business days.
- Manufacturer lead time. Complete barrier gates, drive units, long-arm assemblies and turnstiles are frequently built or configured to order. Lead time is shown on the product page where known and always confirmed in writing on your quote.
- Special order. Non-catalogue configurations, custom arm lengths and specific colour or finish requests. These are quoted individually with a firm lead time and are generally non-returnable. See our Return Policy.
If a lead time changes after you order (a manufacturer delay, a component shortage), we contact you with the revised date and your options rather than letting the order sit.
3. Shipping Methods
Small parcels ship via UPS, FedEx or USPS depending on size, weight and destination. Ground service is the default. Expedited service (2-day and next-day air) is available on in-stock parcel items. Select it at checkout or ask for it on your quote.
Expedited shipping accelerates transit time only. It does not shorten order processing or manufacturer lead time. An expedited order for a made-to-order gate still waits on the build.
4. Freight & Oversized Items
Barrier gate housings, drive units, long gate arms, turnstiles and pallet quantities ship by LTL freight rather than parcel carrier. Freight shipments work differently and you should plan for the following:
- Delivery appointment. The carrier calls the phone number on the order to schedule delivery. Give us a number that will actually be answered during business hours. A missed appointment is the single most common cause of freight delay.
- Curbside delivery. Standard freight service delivers to the kerb or the loading dock. It does not include inside delivery, placement, or removal of packaging.
- Liftgate service. Sites without a dock need liftgate service. This is an additional charge and must be requested before the shipment leaves. Adding it after pickup costs significantly more.
- Unloading. The receiving party is responsible for unloading. A crated barrier gate is heavy; have equipment and people ready at the appointment time.
5. Shipping Costs
Parcel shipping is calculated at checkout from the shipment weight, dimensions and destination. Freight shipping on oversized items is quoted individually, because the cost depends on the destination, the accessorial services required (liftgate, residential delivery, limited access), and current carrier rates.
Freight items are not priced at checkout. If you have selected a product that requires freight shipping, email info@barrieraccess.com for a no-obligation freight quote, or call 321-250-2500. Freight costs remain unstable, so we price the shipment individually rather than applying an automated estimate that would frequently be wrong.
We normally respond the same day, usually within a couple of hours or less. Once you approve the freight cost we email a secure link to an invoice where you can complete the purchase. A single freight quote covers up to three gate arms shipped together.
Duties, taxes and customs charges on shipments outside the United States are the responsibility of the buyer.
6. Destinations
Standard checkout ships to addresses within the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii (surcharges apply). We ship to commercial addresses, residential addresses, construction sites and government facilities.
International and cross-border shipments are quoted case by case. Contact us with the destination country, the items required and your preferred incoterms and we will price the freight.
We do not ship to PO boxes. Freight carriers cannot deliver to them, and parcel shipments of gate hardware routinely exceed PO box size limits.
7. Tracking & Delivery
A tracking number is emailed to the address on your order as soon as the shipment is picked up. Parcel tracking updates within a few hours; freight tracking updates as the shipment moves between terminals, which can mean a day or more between scans on a cross-country move.
Title and risk of loss pass to the buyer on delivery to the carrier, unless your quote states otherwise. If you have not received tracking within two business days of your expected ship date, contact us and we will chase it.
8. Damaged or Missing Freight
Freight claims are won or lost at the moment of delivery. Before you sign the delivery receipt:
- Count the pieces against the bill of lading.
- Inspect every crate and carton for crush damage, punctures, water staining or shifted contents.
- Note any visible damage or shortage on the delivery receipt before you sign. A clean signature on a damaged shipment makes the claim very difficult to recover.
- Photograph the packaging and the damage while the driver is still on site.
- Contact us within 48 hours with the photographs and a copy of the annotated delivery receipt.
Concealed damage (damage discovered after uncrating) must be reported within five business days of delivery, with photographs of the item and the packaging it arrived in. Keep all original packaging until the claim is resolved.
9. Address Errors & Refused Shipments
Check your ship-to address carefully at checkout. Once a shipment is in transit, carrier address corrections carry a fee that is passed through to the buyer.
Shipments refused at delivery, or returned to us because delivery could not be completed after repeated attempts, are subject to return freight charges and any applicable restocking fee under our Return Policy.
